- Me: Well that will make for, uh, interesting conversation during Christmas lunch
- Mum: Yes, right. If it makes her happy that's okay, but I told her anyone who has surgery if they don't really have to, is mad. Especially after my experiences with anaesthetic
- Me: Well I'll cross my fingers that everything goes well and she's happy with the result
- Me: It's a lot of money to spend

- Mum: Well, I had no idea how much, but Anita thought it was $9000
- Me: I bet the kids said "Mum, you could get a killer TV and sound system for that!"
- Mum: Probably, I don't know what their reaction has been, but maybe that's her Christmas present from them!
